From The Commander Dear Comrades, Post 295 was well represented at the Minnesota State VFW Convention held in Rochester June 17th through 20th. Terry Pieper, Post 295 Adjutant and Joe McAleavy, 2nd District Commander were recognized for their efforts in raising over $40,000 for their Commanders project; MAVC, UnMet Needs and Operation Uplink. I also wish to extend my deepest thanks to both for their tremendous effort and success with the project. Of course, we cant forget to thank our Jr. Vice Commander, Dick Cruz for driving the motor home and providing his own special home cooking during Terrys long trek from Fairmont to S St Paul. Great job and inspiration guy! Again, the 2nd District Hospitality Room was a great hit, a favorite amongst all those attending the convention. The Fiesta theme provided a great atmosphere of dιcor, food and costumes. Again, by far the best outfit award goes to Tom Connelly. Our thanks go out to Sherry & Marc Anderson, Suzanne Mausolf, Dick Cruz (great Mexican decorations), Connie Zurn (2nd District Auxiliary President) and Barb Kleckner for their help in making the hospitality room a great success. Thank you to all who donated food and beverages.
